Note: The interview was taken before the departure of Tentpole and face from Begrip to NiP.
So first off, tell our audience who you are.
My name is Fredrik Andersson, i'm 20 Years old and have played counter-strike for teams such as Team9, mYm and now
Begrip.
At what stage did you think you might win the round all by yourself?
When i have a great day with my AWP, i usually can win matches by myself. But i look at the team effort, you need every
single player to be on top to win the bigger events.
How often to you practice and how?
We practice 4-6 hours 5 days a week with the weekends off, and i play a lot of mixes and tournaments besides that, to keep
the shape up.
So, ermm... what do you do for entertainment? College or something?
Hang out with my friends, do sports, and work at QPAD here in Stockholm.
Have you ever signed an autograph?
Many!
What about your private life? Do you have a soulmate?
Nope, not at the moment, i have played competitive for 3 years, but a total of 5 years.
How famous are you in Sweden in real life? How big is pro-gaming out there?
Im pretty famous in Sweden, dont know about other countries, but i guess the movie series that i have made with my brother
have been quite popular.
Looking more into the distant future, do you ever see a time where you can live only off gaming?
Yeah in the future, but players that are amongst the best at this point, cant still now live a decent life on their paycheck,
but i think that will change in the future.
How do you feel about your teams performance this year?
Okey, but the new team will perform much better.
What got you into Counter-Strike? Did you like it right away?
HAHA, noo! I hated getting stabbed all the time, but i got introduced by my brothers, and after a soccer injury... i got more
into the game and wanted to go professional, so here i am today.
Tell us about your team mates. One by one. Who does what?
Tentpole: A former fnatic player.. A great all-round player that brings a lot of experience and confidence into the team.
Hard to describe how good he is to be honest.
threat: My former teammate in mYm, a great rotation player that can play on basically every position on the map. He is also
our in-game leader and has done a great job so far.
azl: He really brings the aim to a whole new level, so he is a very solid and important player of the team, always makes the
important entry-kills and finish the tight situations off.
face: A great allround player with a great 1on1 game. He's also a madaimer, so when he's on the highest level on his game, no
one can stop him.
Which is your favorite Counter-Strike map and why?
De_nuke. I love the fast game.
What does your family think of you as a professional gamer?
They support me, and follow the games pretty often, so it feels great to have their support.
How long have you been playing video games?
Hmm, since i was a child i guess!
When did you realize that you compete at a professional level?
A couple of years ago, when i felt that i destroyed at public!
Do you keep in good physical shape to be better at games? Do you think it matters?
Yeah, i work out a couple of days a weak to keep in shape, both for myself, but also because its better to focus in-game when you're fit.
Do you think there any gamers (in any game) playing at a different level like a Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods? Who are
they?
I would say that fatal1ty has been on the same level as them, not earning that amount of money. But just being the best in
what he do or did.
What obstacles/challenges have you faced as a gamer?
Ive been playing with norwegians and danish players, i guess that was a funny challenge, but also to stick with a team for a
longer time, its hard to find the right players. But i hope i have done that with the new Begrip lineup.
Tell us a funny moment from your professional gamer life!
When we took an eco round at a norwegian event. I screamed and jumped so my monitor went down from the table and landed on
the lan-switch that was on the floor, our connection also died from the server. So we laughed for about 15 minutes straight
after that.
Any shoutouts you'd like to make?
I would like to thank Sennheiser, Chillside and QPAD, and all the fans that support me. Thank you!
