The World Cyber Games is with no doubt, one of the most expected events of the year. From 18 to 22 October, this amazing tournament will be taking place in Monza, Italy.

Events: WCG Finals for Half-Life: Counter-Strike 1.6, WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, FIFA Soccer 06, Dawn of War: Winter Assault, StarCraft: Brood War, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360), Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360); Quake 4 AllStar show tournament

WCG 2006: CS Finals

Even this is sixth event ever organised by WCG, this year`s edition will have a little more importance as this is the first WCG Final to be held in Europe. Not less than 50 teams will represent their countries and will try to bring home the title for the best Counter-Strike team in the world. As usual, the participants will also have some great prizes to dispute. The prize distribution for the CS finals is as follows:
1st place - $60,000
2nd place - $30,000
3rd place - $15,000
4th-8th place - Hardware Prizes
The WCG Counter-Strike finals will last four days, from 19 to 22 October. The schedule can be found below.
Thursday, October 19th - Groups A-D
Friday, October 20th - Groups E-H
Saturday, October 21st - Single Elimination (best of three)
Sunday, October 22nd - Grand Finals
The tournament will start in a group stage system, containing eight groups. The best two teams of each group will advance to the next phase, played in a single elimination best-of-three structure. The attending teams, ordered by groups can be found on the next two pages.
