Intel Core 2 Extreme Masters Presentation
Last month, the Electronic Sports League announced the
first season of the Intel Core 2 Extreme Masters (official announcement can be read here).
All the countries that are active in ESL will have a number of representing teams
between one and five, depending on the rankings made by the organisers. Being placed 11-24,
our country will be able to send one team to play in the first qualification round. The ESL
rankings, the slots assigned for each country and details about the tournament can be found
here.
Romanian qualifier for Extreme Masters
The team that will represent Romania at the event organised by ESL will be determined
through an online qualifier. The best sixteen teams have been invited by the national organisers
to take part at this tournament. The teams have been divided into three draw pools, based on their
latest online results, and these are the following:
First pool:

Playing System
The participating teams will be divided into four groups. Each group will contain one team
from the first pool, one team from the second and two from the third. Eight teams (the first
two of each group) will qualify for the next stage. Here will be used a double elimination
structure (best out of three). The same format will be used in the semi-finals and the
grand final.
Event Schedule (all times are in EET)
Monday - September 11th:
18:00-20:00 - Group stage matches(A and D groups)
Tuesday - September 12th:
18:00-20:00 - Group stage matches(B and C groups)
Wednesday - September 13th:
17:00-21:00 - Quarter-finals matches
Thursday - September 14th:
17:00-21:00 - Semi-finals matches, the grand final
