Razer Pro|Solutions Review

Time has come to check out Razer's famous mouse and mousepad combo, the Razer Pro|Solutions. We would like to thank SPEED-LINK for providing us with the products.

First of all, let's take a quick look at the packaging. Quite original, the mouse comes in a perfectly sized, cube shaped box. While most of the mice out there are packed in pretty voluminous boxes, this package system should obviously be more attractive. The mousepad comes in a slim box, which is on both sides padded for protection with pieces of thin mold foam.

  • Specifications (taken directly from the Razer Pro|Solutions website)

    - 7 foot, lightweight, non-tangle cord
    - Award winning Razer drivers featuring On-the-Fly sensitivity adjustment

    Razer Pro Pad

    - Two-sided, long-lasting mousing surfaces on an anodized aluminum base
    - Dual sided for demanding graphics applications and precision engineering users
    - Over-sized and uniquely-shaped (10.4" x 13" x 0.1") (265 x 330 mm x 2.5 mm)
    - Non-slip, anti-reflective, abrasion resistant hard coat
    - Specifically designed to support ALL opto-mechanical and optical mice

The first thing you will notice while removing the products from their package is how white they are. Both the mouse and mousepad have a professional, stylish look and will perfectly fit any desktop. The surfaces will of course have to be cleaned more frequently, as any traces of dirt are generally easier to spot on something white.

The Razer Pro Pad has two working sides, one that is smooth and a rougher one. I found it particularly hard to control the mouse on the smooth surface, especially when playing, as the glide was just too fast. The mousepad features four rubber-foam feet on each side that don't allow it to slide on your desk.

The Razer Pro Mouse has the exact ergonomic ambidextrous design of his older brother, the Razer Diamondback. Therefore the tail is a little bit longer than that of the Copperhead and the side buttons are placed in line with the rubber strips and not bellow. This could mean less comfort while playing, but better reach for graphics designers, all these depending on the size of the person's hand and how he particularly likes to hold the mouse.

The greatest feature of the Razer Pro Mouse is the On-the-Fly sensitivity adjustment. This, together with the extreme precision of the mouse and the smooth, accurate glide on the Razer Pro Pad, will highly improve your productivity as a graphics designer, allowing you to switch to a lower or higher sensitivity as you work, depending on what you work.

To sum up, the Razer Pro|Solutions is certainly a combo product I recommend to professional designers and to gamers as well.

Price: 59.99 USD (mouse) | 29.99 USD (mousepad)
    Score: 9/10
